Carol is an ECK staff member who visited an exhibit of Claude Monet’s artwork in Chicago. She liked most of Monet’s works, but some of them didn’t grab her interest. Then she was inspired to stand back from these paintings. Way back. Do you know what happened? From that distance, the pictures became almost as clear as if they had been painted by a realist. Does your life sometimes strike you like a piece of Impressionist art? Maybe it makes no sense to you or it makes you uncomfortable. What can you do about it? What about the ECKist from Nigeria who discovered three baby chicks lost in a rainstorm? After a week, he also discovered they belonged to his landlady. He had poured a week’s time, love, and money into caring for these chicks. He actually saved their little lives. He thought they were going to be his. Then, to his surprise, the landlady said, “If you care for these chicks until they grow up, I’ll give you one.” He was angry, disappointed, and hurt. He also knew that if he didn’t care for the chicks, they would get no care at all. What was he to do? What did he learn from his experience? Through these and other stories, you’ll discover there are many ways to answer such questions. Experience this talk for yourself. You’ll see how to stand back for a better look, in any situation, and be open to see your answers with greater clarity than ever before. (MP3) |
